Onitsuka Tiger's Mexico 66 in Birch and Peacoat, an off-white leather upper with navy Tiger stripes, one of the colourways most closely tied to the shoe's 1960s roots. The Mexico 66 was the first shoe to carry the Tiger stripes, made ahead of the Mexico City Olympics, and it keeps the slim, low-profile shape, the thin rubber sole and the heel flap it has had since.
It wears flat and light, with little cushioning, so it suits city wear, travel and anyone who prefers a slender shoe to a chunky one. Birch is easier to keep looking clean than pure white and the navy stripes lift it. Listed in UK 8; the Mexico 66 runs narrow and slightly long, so many go down half a size.
